Damaged, defective or wrong item

If your order arrives damaged, has a print defect or isn't what you ordered, we'll make it right at no cost to you.

Email help@slabster.co within 7 days of delivery with your order number.
Attach photos of the item and the packaging it came in, including the shipping label.
Tell us what you'd like: a free reprint and reship, or a refund.

Refunds for damage, defects or our mistakes include what you paid for shipping. You usually won't need to send anything back. If we need the item to see what went wrong, we'll send you a prepaid label.

What counts as a defect

Cracks, breaks or layers separating
Warped or bent parts, including heat damage in transit
Missing parts, magnets or hardware
Parts that don't fit together, or don't fit the standard holder or case they're listed for
The wrong item, color or size

What's normal

Fine layer lines, small marks from the printing process and slight color differences between batches are part of how 3D printed parts are made. They aren't defects.

Change-of-mind returns

Changed your mind? You can return most items within 7 days of delivery.

Items must be unused and in their original condition and packaging. Test-fitting a slab is fine. Anything scratched, glued, modified or clearly used isn't returnable.
You pay for return shipping. Use a service with tracking, since we can't refund a return we never receive.
There's no restocking fee.
Original shipping charges aren't refunded.

How to start a return

Email help@slabster.co within 7 days of delivery with your order number and what you're sending back.
We'll reply with the return address and anything else you need.
Ship it within 7 days of our reply, with tracking.

Returns sent without contacting us first may not be accepted.

Refunds

Once your return arrives and we've checked it, we'll refund your original payment method within 5 business days. Your bank or card company may take a few more days to post it. If a return arrives used or damaged, we'll let you know, and we can send it back to you at your cost.

Exchanges

Need a different size or color? Return the original and place a new order. That's the fastest way to get the right one.

Final sale: custom colors and custom sizes

Custom colors and custom sizes are made just for you, so they can't be returned for a change of mind. They're still covered for damage and defects.

Custom means anything we make at your request that isn't a listed option, like a color or size you asked for by email. Everything is made to order, but standard listed colors and sizes aren't custom.

Cancellations

To cancel for a full refund, email us within 12 hours of ordering. After that, your order may already be printing. If we can't stop it, the return window above applies once it arrives.

Heat and sunlight

Our products are printed in PLA, a plastic that doesn't like heat. Here's what to know.

It softens around 140°F (60°C). That's PLA's glass transition, the point where rigid plastic starts to turn soft and rubbery. Most 3D printing PLA sits somewhere between 131 and 149°F (55 to 65°C).
A parked car gets hotter than that. In an Arizona State University and UC San Diego study on summer days above 100°F, cars parked in the sun averaged 116°F inside and 157°F on the dashboard after an hour. In the shade, dashboards still averaged 118°F.
Direct sun makes its own heat. A windowsill, a dashboard or a shelf in a sunny window runs much hotter than the room around it, and a closed display case in the sun traps heat. Darker colors heat up faster.
Hot water counts too. No dishwasher and no hot water. Clean with a soft cloth, mild soap and cool water.
UV adds up. Months of direct sunlight can fade colors (bright ones first), leave a chalky surface and make PLA brittle.
What heat damage looks like: warping, sagging tiers, a bumper that loosens or won't seat, or parts that no longer fit together.

Keep Slabster products indoors, out of direct sun, out of parked cars and away from heaters and vents.

Heat and sun damage after delivery isn't covered. If something arrives warped, that's shipping damage, and it is covered. Report it within 7 days.

eBay and Etsy orders

This policy covers orders placed on slabster.co. eBay and Etsy orders follow that marketplace's return and refund rules. Start those through the marketplace so everything stays on your order record.
